8/10. Maybe the best mystery film viewed almost entirely through a laptop. Searching smartly uses modern-day technology to create an entertaining thriller.

All of which took me by surprise as I was expecting the film to be a Sony knock off of Unfriended but thankfully it was far better than that. Apart from its fantastic presentation, which cleverly uses several devices and internet platforms to tell the story, Searching at its core is a great mystery film.

There are many twists to keep you guessing as you take on a journey that’s simply about one man trying to find his missing daughter. This might also be John Cho’s best performance since his iconic role in Harold and Kumar.

In any sense, I thoroughly enjoyed this film and I would easily recommend for those looking for a fresh mystery thriller. See it.
